I know ...I haven't dropped by here for a while. I know some of Tom Kettle's relatives in Dublin. One is a Capuchin friar in Korea, Fr Laurence Kettle. His great-grandfather was Tom's brother, I think. Tom also went to O'Connell's Schools in Dublin, where I spent ten years, 1951 to 1961. A pupil there in the 1930s died in WWII, Wing-Commander Brendan 'Paddy' Finucane. The Venerable Matt Talbot also spent time there. But if he is ever canonised, as I pray he will, it won'd be for his academic achievements!

I've written about Tom Kettle myself, most recently on 6 August this year, and his indirect connection with one of the Columbans killed by the Japanese during the Battle of Manila in February 1945 [ http://bangortobobbio.blogspot.com/2014/08/my-great-uncles-death-in-great-war-6.html ]

Thank you again, Hughie, and God bless you.Fr Seán Coylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02287947090085700335noreply@blogger.com
